Enhance Your Puffy Letters with Puffy Foam When Embroidery Digitizing

Have you ever wanted to make your embroidery designs really pop? Look no further than Puffy Foam! This amazing product allows you to create dimensional embroideries that "pop" off the surface, adding great readability and emphasis to your designs. Now Let's follow Eagle Digitizing to learn how to do Puffy Letters with Puffy Foam.

Available in 2mm and 3mm thicknesses and a variety of colors, Puffy Foam is perfect for creating lettering that puffs off the fabric surface to really make a statement. To get started, choose a font or word that's digitized for Puffy Foam. Embroidery Library has many designs digitized for Puffy Foam, including the "Dream" font and the "Puff Foam Alphabet."

It's important to choose designs digitized for use with Puffy Foam because they eliminate the underlay that would mash down the Puffy Foam and allow it to bloom to its fullest.

Once you have your design, it's time to start embroidering!

1. First, hoop a layer or two of Cut-Away Plus™ Stabilizer, making sure to mark the center cross marks and the desired design center on the fabric. Then, adhere the fabric to the stabilizer using Sulky KK 2000 Temporary Spray Adhesive.

2. Decide which areas of the design you want to "puff" with Puffy Foam, and place the Puffy Foam sheet over those areas like a topper. Use a pin to denote the fabric center if necessary, and use KK 2000 to secure the Puffy Foam in place.

3. Embroider the design, tearing away the Puffy Foam carefully along the stitching lines once the Puffy areas are complete. If small bits remain, use a seam ripper or sharp scissors to grab them and gently pull them away.

4. To stabilize the fabric for wide satin stitching in the featured design, use two layers of Cut-Away Plus Stabilizer in the hoop. Once your embroidery is complete, follow the pattern instructions to construct your pillow or other project.
