Frequently asked questions

3D puff embroidery is another way of sewing, which involves use of foam under the threads. Sewing is normally done on the edge of the form, leaving the middle part of the form having the effect of being elevated – a vivid 3D look. 3D-effect embroidery, by contrast, is direct embroidery with fabric and thread only – no foam. Thick underlay and lots of thread are usually used to achieve the three-dimensional effect.

Sewout appearance produced by different embroidery machines can vary, sometimes substantially, even when sewing the same Tajima file. From our experience, the following factors can cause the difference:

Fabric material
Needles
Thread
Human skill
Settings of the embroidery machine, such as speed
The age of the embroidery machine.

Difference of machine brand may or may not be a reason. We can customize the digitized file to offset such factors, if a scan of your sewout is provided.

Vector-based formats, like “.ai” “.eps” (generated by Adobe Illustrator), and “.cdr” (generated by Corel Draw) are excellent. Most embroidery firms and printing firms can use them. For embroidery sewing machines, Tajima (or “dst”) is the most commonly-used format. Most brands of embroidery machines can use it: Brother, Happy, Tajima, Wilcom, for example.

Quality guarantee: Eagle Digitizing makes every effort to ensure that the digitizing is done according to your specifications, and with the best workmanship. You will not be charged if we do not accomplish this.

Eagle Digitizing uses primarily the Tajima and Wilcom digitizing systems.

The primary ones are: (1). Size (width or height, not both). (2). Material(s) to be embroidered onto. (3). Location to be sewn onto (such as left chest, cap-front).

The digitized design is the customer's property. Therefore Eagle Digitizing keeps these designs strictly confidential. We never convey customer's designs to others. Also, we have a reliable backup storage to keep your designs in case your copies become lost. Upon request, we can resend them to you within one hour.

Eagle Digitizing has used a single-head Brother machine to produce sewouts for more than ten years, with consistently good performance. Other brands, like Happy, Tajima and Melco are also highly recommended by our friends and customers.

We sew and inspect each digitized design to ensure that it is sharp and clean. If we find a problem we correct it and sew again. We do this until we achieve perfection in our sewout, then e-mail the dst file and a scan of the sewout to you.

Embroidery depends on many other factors besides digitizing, like machine, needle, thread, speed ..., even operator's skills. So we usually provide quick, mostly free edit services to our customers. A scan of how your sample looks will be very helpful for a revision, we also strongly suggest our customer to test run the tape before production.

Most of our editing is free. If we are asked to digitize something new onto an existing logo – including replacing an existing component with a new one – a charge applies.
